Daniel Carter Beard, one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America, was the first to talk about the Forester's Tent, a light and reliable tent that offers a wonderful cover from the elements. The front of the tent is around 210cm (7ft) wide and 180cm (6ft) tall, while the rear is 90cm (3ft) both tall and wide, allowing to accommodate a camper comfortably, and even the rucksack; the length is about 240cm (8ft), with very little effort 2 campers can have a wonderful shelter with space for their equipment. It is meant to be used with a campfire in front of it so as to profit from the warmth: the design of this Forester Tent provides a sleeping place that won't condensate nor let water in, if pitched correctly. There are many ways to set -up this tent, you can use a big bipod in front of it, you can build a tripod as the very frame of the tent, and even using a long pole from a broken tree is possible, if you use it as a beam for the interior of the tent it can leave throuh the opening at the back; with some rocks you can find around you can secure the sides of the shelter, you won't need any tools! Made of a reliable, and traditional organic 100% cotton fabric; the way they were made. This is our tribute, don't settle for less: cotton fabrics are more breathable, more authentic, naturally UV-resistant, and they are available in Forest Green and Natural Canvas (and Forest Green or Mountain Brown for our oilskin version of the Forester Tent), for setting up camps that are perfect for hunting and trekking. The Loue Canvas Tent: A Timeless Design from Finland Camping is all about blending in with nature and embracing the great outdoors. And what better way to do that than with a Loue Canvas Tent, a traditional Finnish design that pays tribute to the way camping should be. Made of 100% organic cotton, this tent offers a more authentic, breathable, and naturally UV-resistant experience than synthetic materials. Available in Forest Green and Natural Canvas, as well as Forest Green or Mountain Brown for the oilskin version, the Loue Shelter is perfect for hunting and trekking excursions. Easy to Set Up and Spacious Setting up the Loue is a breeze. Simply hang the top tip of the tent fabric from a tree, branch, or walking stick, and fix the bottom to the ground with pegs. The darts attached to the rear seams help keep the shelter taut, providing extra internal space and excellent protection against wind and rain. For a basic setup, pitch the apex at around 150-180 cm using a tree or other available pole. It's also possible to combine two or three Loue to form a larger, enclosed tipi or Finnish kota-type of shelter. Warm and Cozy with a Campfire The Loue is meant to be used with a campfire set in front of it, heating the shelter and reflecting light and heat to create a warm and cozy atmosphere. And if you prefer alternative heat sources such as stoves, they can be used as well. The tent is completely open on one side, shielding you from the wind and rain while still allowing you to make optimal use of the heat from your fire. Place the Loue so that the prevailing winds blow across the opening of the loue, taking smoke away from the shelter and keeping you comfortable. The Origins of the Loue The Loue Canvas Tent has its roots in Finland. A.E. Järvinen, a famous Finnish forester, painter, and writer, graduated as a forester in 1915 and went on to work in Rovaniemi as a forest appraiser for Metsähallitus and later as chief forester as head of the appraisal office. Järvinen wrote about the importance of a loue-fabric, a protector from the wind and rain, in his books. He described a loue-shelter as good for a small group of 1-3 persons, light and spacious, and providing warmth as well as protection from the rain and smoke. Kullervo Kemppinen, a boy-scout leader, also played a role in making the Loue world-famous. Kemppinen wrote dozens of books about the outdoors, based on over 50 hill hikes he made to the Saariselä fells, Lemmenjoki, Muotka, Paistunturi, Pallas-Ounas, Käsivarte, and Ruija between 1948 and 1995. His first book, Lumikuru, stories and pictures from the Saariselkä fells, was based on a hike he made in 1950 and has greatly influenced backpacking. Kemppinen wrote about receiving the blueprints of the authentic Loue, designed by A.E. Järvinen himself, after a hike and being immediately intrigued. He described the Loue as a shelter that provided full protection from the wind and rain, where all activities such as drying wet clothes, repairing them, cooking, and coffee making could be done sitting under its protection. Having a container of some sort is one of the most essential items for any time spend in the woods.... but we can do better than that. A good container should make itself useful in more than one capacity, make cooking a simple chore rather than a Rube Goldberg like exercise. It should be bomb proof and allow you to maximize the amount of water you can boil all while being as portable as possible. This 64 oz Bush Pot by Dave Canterbury has got to be our favorite of all time. Constructed of food-grade 304 stainless steel, you don't have to worry about what's leaching into your food or water (unlike aluminum). The bail has lockable detents so it stays where you want it, and the batwing handles make holding it a breeze, even when full of hot liquid or food. There is a pour spout opposite the batwing handles that makes sharing a cinch, and a strainer lid if you brought something like pasta! While this stove IS based off of the design Bushcraft legend Mors Kochanski has been using for decades (itself based on the coffee pot found in old nesting camp pot sets), those are all made of aluminum and are inherently not as safe or durable as this stainless steel model. With aluminum you MUST be careful not to keep it over the fire empty, or you'll burn a hole right through it. You could sleep through the night with this pot on the coals and never have to think twice! We've carried one for years now, and it never leaves the pack. We keep our other essential cook gear inside to save space, along with an alcohol stove, just in case there aren't fires allowed, or everything is just too soggy. Pair this with the folding skillet and alcohol stove for the ultimate backwoods cooking kit!

When we think of a Valencian paella, images of the countryside and tradition, of meeting and companionship, are evoked. It is one of the best-known Spanish containers and one of our favourites! There's much to be said about a party of campers that carry a paella with them :) With the paella you can make great dishes to feed a large group; grilling, frying, boiling ... its flat design and two handles make it easy to carry in a backpack. The paella also hides other less orthodox uses: If we choose a polished carbon steel or stainless steel paella, it can perform the function of an emergency signaling mirror, and if we do not want to waste our voice shouting and we do not have a whistle, it can be hit to create a very amplified and characteristic sound. If we chose an enameled or stainless steel one, we would not have to maintain the care that polished steel requires. After Bushcraft Spain's top product, the Bushcraft Spain Oilskin Tarp, we have created a smaller and versatile tarp for those who want a minimalistic experience when camping and don't need the extra weight. The long staple cotton product we use, finished in an oil and wax formula, is a wonderful tarp for tarps and shelters. The compact and lighter 8'x8' / 2.5x2.5 meter canvas weighs around 2kg and it will shelter you during your wilderness adventure. All tarps are finished with a large number of loops (19) on all four sides and along the centre seam. Its layer of wax and oil provides resistance to water, which will slide down the tarp, thus making it very waterproof. We were pioneers in the manufacture of Oilskin Tarps in Europe and we have paid all our care to their composition: all the loops are resistant, since they must withstand the constant pulls of the elements and we add extra resistant central reinforcements along the seam central for those who want to use the tarpaulin as in the diamond or plow-point configuration. The thread is of great strength and the stitches with attention to detail.
