This kind of waxed canvas cowboy bedroll is built from 10 oz., heavy duty, 100% waxed cotton canvas following our oilskin finish process' proportions of wax and oil, making the bag highly durable and water repellent. We offer, optionally, our renowned Premium Leather Carrier, consisting of high quality spanish leather straps (long enough to accommodate storing a heavy blanket inside), a sturdy handle and shoulder strap. WHAT IS MERINO WOOL?
Merino wool is a natural fiber grown by Merino sheep (oveja merina). It originated and was improved in Extremadura in the XII and XIII centuries, being instrumental in the economic development of Spain, which held a monopoly on the trade in its thinner and softer wool. We choose to work with Merino wool because it’s one of the most adaptable materials on Earth: each fiber naturally helps regulate body temperature, transports sweat away as a vapor, and cancels out odors; these benefits make it the ideal performance material for exploring nature. Every single woolen item in our store is 100% Made in Spain, respecting the old ways of wool processing, our cattle, our artisans and our clients. Our machinery is over 100 years old and it doesn’t look as if it will quit anytime soon. Finally, the fabric is exposed in the dry and sunny days of the valleys of León to get rid of any moisture.
