OUR JAUREGI AXES ARE HAND FORGED The Basque axes from the Jauregi family business, in Urnieta (Basque Country), are known worldwide for their quality. Its roots, with hardly any outside influence, maintain a uniquely curved handmade ax pattern: The Moon Bit (Aho Ilargiren). The robust but light handle, as well as a powerful ax head, help the hitting so that it is strong and dry, in order not to get stuck and bite the wood correctly. The manufacturing method is unique today in the world, and the good work of Jauregi is indisputable in the artisan ax sector. The upper part of the handle is wider than the rest, so the head of the ax will never fly off, thus providing the extra security that a high-end ax like this requires in its use. Jauregi is the last Basque ax craftsman; Their ax heads are cast, then forged and tempered one by one, ensuring that the quality of each ax is optimal. The heads are differentiated by their weight: from 0.6 kg to 1.5 kg pruning axes / Biscayan axes from 1.5 kg to 2 kg felling axes from 2 kg to 3 kg splitting axes The steel is 0.45-0.5 carbon steel hardened to 55HRC, the handle is made of solid beech, and it includes a sturdy leather sheath. After Bushcraft Spain's top product, the Bushcraft Spain Oilskin Tarp, we have created a smaller and versatile tarp for those who want a minimalistic experience when camping and don't need the extra weight. The long staple cotton product we use, finished in an oil and wax formula, is a wonderful tarp for tarps and shelters. The compact and lighter 8'x8' / 2,5x2,5 meter canvas weighs around 2kg and it will shelter you during your wilderness adventure. All tarps are finished with a large number of loops (19) on all four sides and along the centre seam. Its layer of wax and oil provides resistance to water, which will slide down the tarp, thus making it very waterproof. We were pioneers in the manufacture of Oilskin Tarps in Europe and we have paid all our care to their composition: all the loops are resistant, since they must withstand the constant pulls of the elements and we add extra resistant central reinforcements along the seam central for those who want to use the tarpaulin as in the diamond or plow-point configuration. The thread is of great strength and the stitches with attention to detail.
